So what is there in starting your own business?

When we’re old enough to realize how much were NOT making money for our own, we tend to get into a simple dilemma. Go to work or be the boss.

I’ve been paying much attention to our Entrepreneurial lectures lately. I learned that entrepreneurs came from different shapes and sizes. Not all of them had the same perspective and came from the same status but you know what they all have in common? They all wanted to have a say about being in a status. I guess that’s their motivating factor, to actually gain something from what they’re good at and what they like.

Let’s get to the good side of having your own business.

Having your own business, you might meet a lot of road bumps at first but when you do well in your operations, you’ll start gaining some money. Yes, you’ll be getting the moolah you invested. Second, you’ll be the one providing jobs, you don’t need to be employed since you’re basically the boss of your own business but be sure not to slack off while you’re at it. Not only that, you’ll be able to provide jobs for people since you’ll be needing your own workforce.

But that’s the same typical entrep101 you’ll be facing. Here’s what I think. Having your own business means you’ll be playing while you’re working. You know, you’re actually doing what you really like. For example, you’re really into clothes, so instead of buying clothes, why not start making your own? And who knows maybe people will be interested and will start going at your place for a one-of-a-kind piece? That’s what happened to Ino Caluza. He started out buying expensive jeans. Eventually, he ended up realizing he’s actually spending more than what he’s supposed to. So what he did is bring in his digital artistic skills and started making layouts for his own jeans. Soon enough, people noticed his designs and BOOM! Chocolate rained over the wheat field. Delicious business, right?

Having your own venture also means that you’re  now capable of doing something for other people. You have the business, now start looking for customers to whom you will do good for. Serve your hobbies right and start sharing them to other people. If you like crafting and started your own trinket shop, find people who will actually appreciate your work and will treat them as something more than just a tangible object. Now, your clients are more attached to you while your company’s value starts to step forward.

But of course, what is a good business if the entrepreneur itself is unable serve his position right? Remember, “Garbage in, garbage out.” Start being an investment to yourself and who knows, maybe one day your name will be right next to Lucio tan and Henry Sy’s.
